As hurricane season brings us more tropical storms and hurricanes, we constantly check NOAA’s National Hurricane Center web page. Holiday reminder

A friendly reminder that Security Central offices will be closed this Monday to celebrate Independance Day. Central station remains open as always.

Construction Update

The building structure is complete. The next several weeks focus on electrical and hvac installation, and finishing of the interior.

Holiday Hours

Security Central offices will be closed for the Memorial Day holiday on Monday. As always, Central Station remains available at the regular number (800) 438-4171

Offices will also be closed to honor these following holidays on the listed dates:

Independence Day – July 5
Labor Day – Sept 6
Thanksgiving – Nov 25/26
Christmas – Dec 24
New Years – Dec 31

Adding more space

Additional space being added to our central station building will enhance our electrical capacity, provide more adequate technology spaces, and add more operator seating with increased comfort.

POTS and the Future of Alarm Systems

Much has been printed in the security trade magazines recently regarding the end of Plain Old Telephone Service, or POTS. Some national telecoms companies have petitioned the FCC to set a date for the end of POTS service to subscriber premises. The FCC’s National Broadband Plan sets out the scenarios for the end of POTS, and a conversion to IP. Security Central has responded to dealer inquiries regarding the confusing information being presented, with a white paper titled “The Future of Alarm Transmission”.
